Dr.Shilpa Sheraz Varma[M.B.B.S,M.S]
Armed with true blue professionalism, etched-in-stonework ethics, brewed in a cauldron of work experience, with ingredients like courage, optimism, compassion, understanding, empathy and a pinch of highbrow honesty , she is the voice of help for women.
Passion for work, riding in the vortex of surgical knowledge has been her hallmark. Dedicated to the cause of patients, challenges have become her driving force. The beginnings of this journey were however entirely un-related to doctors; none in her family were doctors, ever. Motivation came to her from her parents, who always encouraged and supported her in pursuing whatever her heart truly desired.
Her fresher, sophomore, and final years in the prestigious B.J.Medical College, Pune, Maharashtra were completely saturated with Research & Studies. The end game was of course a Gold Medal. Present day she is practicing as a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, now for the past 20 years. In her earlier years, Dr. Varma was associated with various reputed hospitals like Ruby Hall Clinic, Jahangir Hospital, Bharti Vidyapeeth, Nobel Hospital etc. as a consultant surgeon.
Thereafter, Dr. Shilpa set up an independent unit for head injury & trauma and CT scan in Ahmednagar where she gave intensive emergency medical and surgical care to road accident victims in the first golden hour of accident, saving many a life – that was her USP.
Consequent to over two decades of experience as a Surgical Specialist, practicing Pan India, she achieved the realization of her need to give back to society pro bono. Her universe colluded to provide her that platform, by way of making her acquaintance with relevant NGOs and Associations involved with CSR. She now lends an active hand for conduct of free medical camps, building health awareness for the Girl Child and Underprivileged Women. She also conducts lectures and seminars on Empowerment Of Women, Early Detection of Cancer, Awareness & Detection of Anemia, Worm Infestations in underprivileged children, Prevention of Communicable Diseases, Menstrual Hygiene etc.
In current times, she is a Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon at Fortis & Kailash Hospital (s) Noida. According to her, being a surgeon is a lifelong process and to be a good surgeon, one must have a passion for the field of medicine and sincere dedication towards treating patients. A surgeon’s life is full of challenges, but truly helping patients should be the driving force.

Be The woman with a voice. Be strong. Be comfortable in your own skin. Know and accept who you are. Find something you are passionate about. Pursue your career, your hobbies, have perseverance and above all confidence in your own self. And do not forget to carry out random acts of kindness.
Dr. Shilpa is at present associated with multiple noble causes like, We Woman Associations, Swach Bharat, Dowry, Women Empowerment, Prem Foundation, Khushi, Smile Foundation, For Slum Angels, Uttarakhand Women, Underprivileged children, Rotary International, Rotary Inner Wheel, Betiyan Bachao-Srishti Sajao, TBFF NGO for Special Children, Women of Noida (WON) Team, etc.
